Walks Saturday December 17 to Friday December 23

Weather Watch

The weather outside for the end of this week as you read this is frightful, as the song goes, so conditions for Saturday may be iffy.

A slow-moving Colorado low will approach Ontario and Quebec Thursday through Saturday, delivering a swath of significant snow, some ice, rain and blustery winds

Risk for freezing rain in southwestern Ontario to the western half of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Thursday morning

Snowfall totals will be highly variable, but upwards of 20+ cm is possible for some of the hardest hit

Forecast details are still being refined, but plan for impactful winter weather to arrive Thursday in southern Ontario and early Friday across southern Quebec

Commutes will be impacted, along with the potential for some power outages

From the Weather Network

If we do gather for outside, good clothing and even better footwear will be a must. Otherwise, we may break down and opt for the PATH (for anyone not having done it before, please sign in or use WhatsApp, and we can carpool. If the roads turn out to be impassable, check for a rain/snow date.

In any case, please more than ever, let others know if you’ll be there by signing in. Thank you!

Your Moment of Zen

The winter session of yoga for older adults (that is us, I’m afraid) is now available for registration at the Toronto Fun Guide. A few of us have renewed for January to March The code is 4091539, and it’s about $57. Come and discover muscles you didn’t know were there! There is often coffee with the gang after.

Hair of the Dog

Ruth passes along that there will be an in-person Hair of the Dog next year (as in January 1, 2023). Details can be found on the event website. Walker’s start is 11:30 a.m. for 3 km walk (9 km run starts at noon). Start is on the boardwalk in front of Balmy Beach Club. $50.85. I think that includes schnapps.

Seasonal Pix

A group of us attended a great Charlie Brown Christmas music show at Sauce on the Danforth last week. Jan’s son Alan (hidden behind the bass) on piano!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Belated Birthday Wishes

Oops! Just adding this here for the record: happy birthday to Eva on the 20th! Good thing others have a closer eye to the calendar.

  1. I plan to be at Loblaws at 8:00 am – unless weather suggests a better alternative.

Love the photo of Helen and Bob in the heart – great! Makes me smile.

And the Charlie Brown Christmas music? – well let’s just say that Alan is a star. Enjoyable evening.
