Walks Saturday April 8 to Friday April 14

Bunny Hop

Saturday looks to be sunny for a great start to the Easter weekend. A bit chilly to start but warming up nicely through the morning. Loblaw’s at 8 as usual, direction tbd.

Off-site Walks

Now that better walking conditions are back, perhaps it’s time to consider occasional Saturday walks in other areas of the city. Please let the group know if you have suggestions for good spots (High Park for the cherry blossoms perhaps?). Just add your thoughts to the comments. Yes, it should be working now.

  1. I had a rough day yesterday and am just coming back to life. So Bob and I will not be at Loblaws this morning. Hoping to grab a short walk later in the day. Happy bunny day to all the Shore Things.

  3. I’ll be out on Saturday.

The Gus Harris Trail in Warden Woods Park is a nice but short walk (starting point is off Pharmacy north of Danforth). To make a longer hike, we can start at Wilket Creek Park on Dawes Road and head east.

I agree with Kim – the Colonel Danforth park is lovely, and by now, the parking lot should be open!!

The Beltline is probably still awfully muddy.

We’d talked about Edwards Gardens and vicinity (free parking and washrooms in Sunnybrook Park and a pretty walk north to Edwards Gardens or pay to park at the Gardens). We’d also talked about Sherwood Park, which is a walk in itself, and also connects to John Muir Park and Sunnybrook Park.

I really liked that walk you organized in the east end, Bob. Was it Rouge Valley? I would love to repeat that walk!
