Walks Saturday July 20 to Friday July 26

Wet and Wild

In the aftermath of Tuesday’s deluge, a group of us went down into Taylor Creek Park to see how the new river works held up to all that rain. It seems that overall, the effort paid off but still, there were many indications of the power of flowing water. Pictures below tell the story.

Ridge under the Don Valley Parkway. Mud on the sidewalk shows the water was almost 2 meters deep at one point.
Flattened grass from water flow
Taylor Creek rose high enough to go over this footbridge

More grass flattening
Washed out debris
And more
The raging power of Taylor Creek

  1. Beautiful photos, however water logged the images may appear! Just a slight adjustment to the blog. Laura’s birthday is on Sunday July 21. However, I don’t think she would mind a few extra days of being 69 though.
