Greetings from lovely Labrador. It’s not as warm as Toronto, but the colours are amazing. Bears have been sighted, and glimpses of whales, pretty flowers and a Shore Thing.
Toronto appears to be in a perfect position for good fall walk, cooler morning and sunny afternoon. Hope as many of you can make it out at the usual this week, and we will see you all next week.
Helen will not be in town for her birthday this year. Anyone following on WhatsApp will know where she is. We will be cupping our ears to hear you wish her the best.

The kids are back at school now so weekday walks will have to consider busy neighbourhood streets in the mornings.
That won’t apply to Saturday.
Our numbers will be depleted as there is travel happening, but there should be quorum. L@8.
It’s hard to believe we are already going into Labour Day Weekend. Where did the summer go?
This Saturday seems on the nose for seasonal, cool sunny mornings and warm afternoons. Unless you’re away, see you the usual.
As usual, there will be a long weekend walk on Monday morning from Tim’s 2 at 9 am.

Temperatures are starting to climb again but mornings are still bearable and even pleasant. So it seems to be for Saturday. About 20° and overcast. See you all at L@8.

The heat is on, and we can’t seem to find the off switch. Still, let’s give it a try starting at 8 for a tolerable distance in a shadier location. The Peanut was good last week, or we could stay on the shadowy (east) side of city streets that run North-South. Other suggestions welcome.
Or just find a splash pad and stay there.
Temperatures are starting to climb up again so remember to hydrate, before, during and after the walk. Splash bit on your wrists. A trick we once saw at a race was soaked sponges wedged between the t-shirt and back of the neck. Worked wonders.

It looks like we may have another destination to walk towards now that Biidaasige Park in the Portlands is open. We skimmed by the north edge last Saturday but still have the interior to explore. A straight there-and-back to Cherry street is just over 7 km. No doubt if we do more of the park, we can get in our usual 8-10 k. Here a few images if you missed them on WhatsApp.
