Helen tells me March 1 is meteorological Spring. Although it may not feel or look like it yet, there are subtle signs spring is on its way, like yellowing willow trees. Be on the lookout for snowdrops in the next few weeks. 🤞🏻
Weekly Walks
Saturday morning may be not bad for our walk. The temperature will be near the freezing mark and if the sun comes out, it could be okay. See you at the usual.
A very popular event this year is Move Your Paws for the Polar Bear Cause at the Toronto Zoo!
On Saturday, February 21, a number of our group will join the cause and move their paws to help some of Canada’s most vulnerable arctic species.
While this 12th edition is already sold out, consider it for next year if you want to help the Toronto Zoo Wildlife Conservancy to continue to provide habitat enhancements and life enrichment opportunities for the residents of the Toronto Zoo’s Tundra Trek, including their beloved polar bears and Arctic wolves.
There will be 5K and 1K distance options open to runners, walkers and wheelers of all ages and abilities. Bundle up and bring the whole family for a day of outdoor fun, fitness and fundraising! This event sells out quickly so apply asap.

Winter Stations Are Ready
Do not climb on the ice shelf!
Weekly Walks
With rain on Friday, and temperatures hovering just near the freezing mark, selecting a safe walking path this week will be important. We can assess and decide at L@8. See you there!
❤️ Yes, Saturday is a combination walk and Valentine’s Day event. We seem to be in for some warmer days so perhaps the streets, sidewalks and paths will be clear(er). Let’s check out the Winter Stations perhaps?
Happy Birthday Wishes
Dawn celebrates this Saturday as well. Felicitations!

Weekly Walks
After a few days of relief, it seems another polar vortex is on the way Saturday. On the plus side, it will be sunny. On the minus side (😉), it will be breezy. Bundle up, and perhaps we can catch sight of the Winter Stations preparation, if they’re already started. otherwise, the schedule opening is on the 16th.
Best wishes to Barbara B., who should be back in person to congratulate!
Weekly Walks
Depending on how the city gets its act together, we may have enough of a clear path for a walk on Saturday. It will be cold but sunny according to current forecast. See you at L@8!
It will be a frosty walk Saturday, if you’re committed. Layers, layers, layers. On the plus side (maybe the only one), winds will be very light. Any distance is a win, and the coffee will be that much hotter. L@8…
Please wish Olwyn a happy birthday today, Thursday January 8. And this Saturday, it’s Jan’s turn. 🎉🥳🎂
Weekly Walks
So far, it looks like Saturday morning is precipitation-free. Can’t say what the roads will be like though. Let us meet as usual and decide. Worst case, a short walk from Loblaw’s to Tim’s?
Will you be joining us for the first Saturday walk of 2026? Too much holiday treats might be a good reason, or just to be with a friendly group and exercise. The usual rendezvous spot, please!
